Brief Autobiography

Rev Gerhardus Human was born in Willowmore in the Karoo. He his BTh degree from University of South Africa (UNISA) and MPhil degree from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NNMU).  He has served in various leadership roles such as but not limited to, Moderator of the Algoa Regional Council. Rev Human was inducted as the new Chairperson of the SA SYNOD-UCCSA at the 8th Synod Conference that was held in George 4-10 July 2016. He is currently serving Pacaltsdorp United Congregational Church.

Brief Autobiography

Rev Daniel George was born and raised in Port Elizabeth. He grew up in Robson Memorial United Congregational Church. Later, his family was relocated, through that notorious apartheid group areas act, to Korsten. It was during his time as a member of Weis Memorial UCC that Rev George sensed a call to ministry. He obtained his national Diploma in Theology from the Fedsem (defunct). He was ordained at the Rev K Petso Memorial United Congregational in Mmabatho (North-West) in 1984.

He has served in various leadership roles. At the time of his nomination as the chairperson-elect he was serving the Regional Secretary of the Peninsula Regional Council. Rev George was nominated as the new Chairperson-elect of the SA SYNOD-UCCSA at the 8th Synod Conference that was held in George 4-10 July 2016. He is currently serving Bethel Paarl United Congregational Church.

Brief Autobiography

Rev Thulani Ndlazi was born in Durban, baptised at Groutville United Congregational Church. He studied theology at the University of Durban Westville (defunct) where he graduated with Bachelor of Theology (Honors). He obtained his Master of Art in Religion from Lancaster Theological Seminary (PA, USA). He has served in numerous leadership including but not limited to, as FoV Director of KZN Region and Moderator of KZN Region. He also served as deputy chairperson of KwaZulu Regional Council and PACSA. At eth time of his appointment as Synod Secretary in 2012 he was seconded to Church Land Program as the program director.

Rev Ndlazi is passionate about mission, ecumenism and social justice. He is currently serving as the deputy-chairperson of Church Unity Commission (CUC).

Dr Sibusiso Dludla

Brief Autobiography

Dr Sibusiso Dludla hails from Mfanefile, Melmoth in KwaZulu-Natal. Baptised and raised at Mfanefile United Congregational Church. He obtained medical degrees in Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Medical University of Southern Africa (Medunsa). He also obtained the following post-graduate qualifications: Post Graduate Diploma: Economic Development Studies (Colorado State University, USA) and Small Business Development Studies (Gallile College Israel). Dr Dludla has served numerous senior managerial and leadership roles such as but not limited to, Chief Director at the Department of Agriculture & Environmental Affairs and Divisional Manager at Ithala Development Finance Institution. Dr Dludla was appointed by the 8th Conference of the SA SYNOD-UCCSA that was held in George from 4-10 July 2016. At the time of his appointment He was serving as the treasurer of the KZN Regional Council.

Brief Autobiography

Rev Kelvin Harris was born in a small town called Blanco (George, Western Cape). He obtained his BTh and BA Honours degrees from the University of the Cape Town. He further obtained an LLB degree from the University of South Africa. Rev Harris was admitted as the Advocate in the Johannesburg High Court in 2016.

He has served the church in various leadership roles such as, but not limited to, FoV Director and Moderator of the Central Regional Council (CRC). Rev Harris has also served as the ATMC director and chairperson of the Theological Education by Extension College (TEEC). At the time of his appointment as the new TMC director he was serving as the secretary of the CRC. Rev Harris is a resident pastor at Bosmont United Congregational Church.

Mr Molefi was born and raised in Vryburg, North-West region. He has served in several leadership roles such but not limited. He has worked as a journalist Radio Vaal, personal financial advisor at Old Mutual. Mr Molefi has a business interest in farming. He was re-elected to serve his second term as Synod Mission Council Convener by the 8th Conference of the SA SYNOD-UCCSA that was held in George from 4-10 July 2016.

Brief Autobiography

Ms Spangeberg hails from Keimoes in the Northern Cape. She is a member of the Alexander Stewart Memorial United Congregational Church in the Gordonia Region. Ms Spangeberg holds an LLB degree from University of South Africa (UNISA) and is a certified tax practitioner registered with South African Institute for Tax Practitioners (SAIT). In 2015 she was admitted as the only female attorney authorised to conduct notarization in her region. Ms Spangenberg was elected by the 8th Conference of the SA SYNOD-UCCSA that was held in George from 4-10 July 2016 serve as the Chairperson of Investments Committee.
